Quokka – Australian Wildlife Art Print
Quokkas (Setonix brachyurus) are a small species of macropod which are found in Western Australia, primarily on Rottnest Island. The island got its name from a Dutch explorer who mistook the Quokka for a large rat, thus naming the island ‘Rotte Nest’ meaning rats nest. These little marsupials have endeared themselves to the world and have been called the happiest animals in the world as it looks like they’re always smiling!
